Samsung's Ace revealed a little early

Samsung_ace

Samsung has revealed, perhaps a little early, its latest Android phone, the Galaxy Ace. On Samsung's Indonesian website, it published official specifications and high resolution images of the upcoming phone.

The Ace isn't expected to be officially announced until the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month but it looks like we've got ourselves more than just a peek.

The quad-band HSDPA Ace weighs 113 grams, carries a 5 megapixel camera with a 3.5" TFT display packing 320 * 480 pixels, a Swype keyboard, bluetooth 2.1, WiFi GPS, FM Radio, and a 1350 mAh battery which should be good for 11 hours of talk time on 2G or 6.5 hours on 3G. Internal memory will be 158 MB with the usual microSD support of up to 32 GB.

The phone will be shipped with Android 2.2 though it should be upgradable to 2.3 once Samsung has done its usual modifications for its devices. It's also

We can't help but notice that the Ace resembles a certain glass paneled phone from Cupertino if not for its three button arrangement on its face although of course it remains to be seen if it does resemble the iPhone 4 since it's only images at this point.

Pricing and release date should be announced on February 13 at the MWC. Given its smaller frame and lower spec compared to its 4-inch Galaxy S siblings, we're expecting the Ace to be somewhat more affordable.
