A rumor spreads up after @ronishak spilled there's confirmation from insider that Indonesia's XL Axiata will introduce iPhone 4 in mid of July. If it were true, this will end iPhone exclusivity once enjoyed by Telkomsel and which will heat up new competition on offering the best package for Apple's latest gem.
XL Axiata -- claimed as third largest operator in Indonesia based on number of subscribers -- has made drastic move towards this action by becoming the first to launch microSIM card. This kind of card is currently only utilized by Apple products, namely iPad 3G and iPhone 4. It sounds logical that after unveiling microSIM card, this carrier will offer the product that fully utilize it.
In regional, most countries have lost their exclusivity on selling iPhone due to popular demands, you can take a look at Singapore and Malaysia. Indonesia, however, still maintains single operator's exclusivity thanks to higher demands on BlackBerry side, compared to iPhone one.
The selling of iPhone 3GS this year, however, which is considered better than the one scored by iPhone 3G because of rationalization of its prices, raises optimism that iPhone is finally welcomed here.
