Samsung Solar Guru, the first solar-powered cellphone launch in India

Samsung, as one of cellphone vendor based in Taiwan has launch Solar Guru, the first solar-powered cellphone for Indian market. Solar Guru or known as Samsung E1107 can be charged by sunlight. If you charged this phone for 40 hour, it can be used all times but if you charged this phone at the direct sunlight for 1 hour you can used this phone for 5 - 10 minutes talk time.

Samsung E1107 Solar Guru sports with standard features like FM transmitter, 1,5-inch CSTN display with 62k color, dual-band GSM, MP3 ringtone, mobile tracker, flashlight and 800 mAh battery. The special feature in this phone is MobilePrayer, this apps has a religius content and wallpaper which can be customize with the major riligion in that country.

Apart from India, Solar Guru will also be launched in Europe, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia and Latin America.

Nokia launching "WeMeet" in India

Nokia is launching WeMeet application in India, this is a location aware application (works with cellid) that enables users to create chat groups and buy/sell products using SMS. WeMeet works with S40 and S60 phones as well (SMS based app that works on low-cost devices). The service is launched by Nokia’s Research Center.

To use We Meet, all you have to do is download and install the Java client on your mobile phone, which can be run on any S40 or S60 phone and get started right away.You can create groups and start adding contacts to the relevant groups.

If you are using the Java client, your location information will be broadcasted along with the SMSes.The software “threads” the messages in chronological order, making it easy to follow the conversation. The effect is something like an instant messaging conversation, but at the fraction of the cost and on devices with no data plans.

Indosat bring DC-HSPA+ 42 Mbps in Surabaya

Indosat just launch fast Internet access service DC-HSPA+ 42 Mbps in Surabaya, Indonesia. Indosat claim the DC-HSPA+ services could provide download speeds of up to 42 Mbps for customers Indosat Mobile Broadband and IM2. Previously, these service has only presented to Indosat customers in Jakarta.

In addition, with launching this services, Indosat bring network modernization for Surabaya city, this modernization is done to save power consumption and space requirements by up to 50%. Also this step is one of Indosat's efforts to support the telecommunications industry that are environmentally friendly.

Indosat is the first operator in Asia and second in the world after Australia's Telstra is implementing technology Dual Carrier High Speed Packet Access, or abbreviated as DC-HSPA+. Google plans to release Android 2.3 Gingerbread on Q4 2010

Not long ago, Google has announced the existence of a new version of Android 2.2 aka Froyo, in the event of Google I/O which was held in San Francisco, U.S. companies now prepare the newest operating system who has called the Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

According to rumors spread on the Internet today, Google team will plan released Android  2.3on the fourth quarter of 2010. While for now, the existence of Android 2.2 Froyo not been fully released and not yet widely spread on Android devices.

If this news is true, it means that Google Android has had five variants that has a code name taken from the cake, such as Android 5.1 as 'Cupcake', Android 1.6 'Donut', Android 1.2 'Enclair', Android 2.2 'Froyo' (Fozen Yogurt) and Android 3.2 'Gingerbread '. If the note all the names that have the prefix letter alphabet C, D, E, F and G. An intelligent approach than Google, while the use of a snack/cakes makes this platform so impressed more "sweet" and sound friendly for the user.

Nokia launched three new model phones C3, C6 and E5

Nokia has been launching three new phones with has a cheap price but packed with Social networking feature. The most basic of the group are Nokia C3, this is the first S40 Symbian device that features a full QWERTY keypad. It offers a QVGA screen measuring 2.4 inches long, 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Chat Ovi, Ovi Mail and support for microSD cards up to 8GB. C3 This phone will be available in white gold, slate gray and hot pink and will be available in the second quarter with a price € 90 (US$ 122).

Next is the Nokia C6. A full touch screen with a horizontal sliding QWERTY keypad, the C6 features a 360 × 640 screen with 3.2-inch wide-screen, 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and Ovi Maps. This phone will be available in the next quarter with the price € 220 (US$ 299).

Lastly, we will see Nokia E5. Expected to be available in the 3rd quarter with the price of € 180 (U.S. $ 224), has a 2.4 inch QVGA display, 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi and support for Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes IBM into the frame small candybar. HTC Desire comes with silver housing

Although this has not been confirmed officially by the HTC, Irkan from xda-developer forums have been getting HTC Desire with silver color, this is different with the HTC Desire that first appeared with a dark brown housing color.

HTC Desire will be widely available for users in Europe and Asia in the second quarter of this year. This device will have a 3,7 inch WVGA screen with AMOLED screen technology, powered by 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, sports 5 megapixel camera, LED flash, Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS.

60,000 Android smartphones shipped per day

Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt just made a strong statement during his keynote speech at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2010 in Barcelona.  According to MobileCrunch, Eric Schmidt just said that Google and their hardware partners are now shipping 60,000 Android handsets.

But still, 60,000 Android handsets per day is pretty strong. Do the math (multiply 60,000 by 365) and you have Google’s Android OS going out on 21.9 million devices per year.
