We know Google Goggles for Android is a very "promising" app, it allows us to capture a logo then Goggles will use Google search engine to find some related items on the web, and it also works on landmarks too. Google believes that by using Goggles, it will gives people more choice to search for some stuffs via web. Even though the app still need some improvement (eg. a better image recognition), Google seems ready to take Goggles into a higher level. At MWC, Google showed us the next version of Google Goggles and it will involves Google Translate.
With optical character recognition (OCR), the next version of Google Goggles will scan the text that we have captured, and then allows us to select those text before translate them into the desired language. Here's a demo of how Google Goggles translates a German menu into English.

MWC 2010 is definitely a big event for Samsung as they finally made their first Bada handset official. Samsung Wave is finally announced, and the phone itself has pretty much the same feature and specs that we've already covered yesterday. The Wave (S8500) will be the first handset to use the Super AMOLED display with the 800x480 resolution, the other specs are the 1GHz processor, a 5MP camera (seems become more common isn't it?), aGPS, accelerometer, 2GB or 8GB of internal storage, a microSD slot and of course the Bada OS. The Wave is also going to be the first handset to ship with Bluetooth 3.0.
No words on the pricing, but it will be available worldwide starting in April.
Just a couple of hours before the MWC 2010 started, Sony Ericsson announced their three new handsets. First up, the Symbian S60 5th edition handset, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro. The other two new handsets are the little brother of the yet-to-be-launched Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro. Both device seems to be the "lite" & "smaller" version of the Xperia X10, in terms of physical presence and also hardware. Both device has pretty much the same hardware specs, the only difference is the Pro version will have a physical QWERTY keyboard. The X10 Mini and Mini Pro will be equipped with a 600 MHz Qualcomm processor, 5MP camera with auto-focus and geo-tagging, 2.55" QVGA touchscreen display, aGPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Android 1.6 with Sony Ericsson Timescape & Mediascape. Remember Bada? Samsung's own mobile operating system? Tomorrow at MWC 2010, Samsung is going to announce their first smartphone using the Bada OS and that phone is going to be called, Samsung Wave. Samsung Wave or the S8500, seems to be the first on a couple of stuffs, other than becoming the first Bada's smartphone, this phone is also said to be the first handset's using the Super AMOLED screen, and not just that, the Wave is also the first handset to receive Bluetooth SIG certification for the new Bluetooth 3.0 standard!
But! don't get too excited just yet, as there are some new specs leaks about this phone, and surprisingly, other than the confirmed Bada OS, the leaked specs didn't say anything about the Super AMOLED screen (only AMOLED) and also neither about the Bluetooth 3.0 (still using the Bluetooth 2.0).
Captured from Samsung's newsletter, it's informed that the Korea company is about to launch a new smartphone at Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona on Feb 14. Samsung claims the new smartphone as brighter, faster, and more fun than ever. The launching is for invited guests only as stated in Samsung Unpacked site.
Can it be the first new Bada-powered smartphone? At least the ocean theme is supporting this argument. We'll update you for more information.
