With a little bit of hack, the Nexus One is capable to shoots a 720p video

Man! The guys from the XDA-Developers forum never sleeps aren't they? This time the community presents a hack, which allows you to record a 720p video from your Nexus One. The video is a bit choppy at times and the sound quality is awful, but this is a work in progress so expect a better release in the future.

To apply the hack, you must have a rooted Nexus One and also running CyanogenMod CM 5.0.8test3 along with the Froyo's radio update. If you want to know more about the hack, go here to check it out.

Okay gotta admit, the hack is pretty darn scary.. so if you're not sure what you're about to do, then move along.

Windows Phone 7 Series ported to HTC HD2

It's a pretty disappointing news when Microsoft has confirmed that the HTC HD2 would not receive an update to Windows Phone 7 Series, their reason? the HTC HD2's hardware specification doesn't comply with Microsoft's hardware standards for Windows Phone 7 Series. It's not technical stuffs like the processor clock or display size or even camera resolution, no, it's because the HTC HD2 doesn't have the dedicated hardware button for Bing and system-wide search.

But that's not going to stop a team of Russian tinkerers over at htcpedia, who have manage to port WP7S over to the HTC HD2. Aside from laggy stuffs here and there, which probably has something to do with the graphics driver, everything seems to be working just fine, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth all works! Tom Codon also has confirmed that, currently there are only two buttons that are working, the start button and back button, but they also working to map the search button to the home button.

You may going to loose the HTC Sense that the HTC HD2 originally came with, but who needs 'em if you can have the awesome UI of Windows Phone 7 Series (damn that's a long name!).

Make your Nexus One more "Desire"-able with Sense UI

Sense UI is arguably the best custom UI made by HTC for Android OS (the Xperia X10 UI is probably the only one that could top it) and after HTC announced the HTC Desire will have the new and improved Sense UI, many Nexus One owners felt they should have wait and buy the Desire instead of the Nexus One... until now.

If you have rooted your Nexus One, you might want to try the custom ROM based from the HTC Desire device. Mind you though, this is still an alpha release, a couple of performance issues here and there (at least that's what I saw from the video), but overall it's a fully functional ROM and give the dev some more time to tweak it, then this ROM is surely going to be a hit!

The ROM it self has a couple of cool features, like Flash 10.1, an expose-like homescreen switcher, an FM Radio application - although I'm not really sure that it'll work on the Nexus One and many more. Can't wait to flash? Head to this link for more info.

Nokia N900 can also run Windows OS

Even though the Nokia N900 dual-booting Maemo 5 and Android are still on an experimental stage (means not fully functional yet), we gotta admit, its awesome and I think, we could expect big things from this device. So now, how about some other OS? Yep thats right, the N900 can also run the Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95 and damn! it can even run Windows 98! But, as I said before, its still very experimental (concept if I must say), not really usable.

Here are some videos the N900 running those OS's

Windows NT 4.0

Windows 3.11

Windows 95

Nokia N900 dual-booting Android and Maemo 5

As we already know, the Nokia N900 probably the most exciting handset that Nokia owns. Why? the answer is great piece of hardware combined with Maemo 5 OS. While we already know the capability of the platform and the device could do, such as, running 10 apps simultaneously, or playing Starcraft. But what could we get if we had the Nokia N900, Maemo 5 and... Android? The answer is, a dual booting Maemo 5 and Android on Nokia N900!

Brandon Roberts, the dude who's responsible of making this possible said, the trick for the dual-boot is we configure the Maemo on internal storage and Android on a separate partition loaded from microSD card. While the hack is still "experimental" and we still don't have any guide or steps on how to do it, but this is surely an exciting news for all hackers out there, who wants to "play" with two most exciting open platform on a same device.

Verizon Droid screen lock has a security flaw

Does your Droid using Android OS version 2.0.1? if yes then tough luck, that recent update apparently has a bug that makes it fairly easy to bypass the phone's security-lock screen. Like most of Android based phones, the Droid security-lock mechanism are requires users to input a certain pattern using the displayed dots before they can access the phone's home screen.

The bug is actually pretty simple to exploit. If the Droid has its lock-screen activated, just simply make a phone call to the phone, and when the call came in, press the 'Back' button, and voila! it'll bypass the lock-screen and jumps straight to the homescreen. Even though you can't change or deactivate the pattern from the Settings menu, this however could be very fatal. The person who hacks the phone has every access to all vital informations such as, the owners email account, cookied web pages, phone directory and pretty much everything else stored on the phone.

Mind you though, this only affecting Android version 2.0.1 on the Droid, no words yet about the Milestone. Google already gave us a statements about this problem, and they said:

“We are aware of the issue and we’re working to deliver a fix to Motorola Droids shortly.”

So there you go, Droid users be patient and relax, Google will released an update for this problem very soon. In the mean time, you could download the Lock 2.0 from the market, it's an alternate lock screen for your Android and it works pretty good too :)
