Dell Streak coming to Singapore, at last

Dellstreak

It has been months since Dell Streak available in both Indonesia and Vietnam. Apparently Singapore is not the preferred market for the American company to offer its 5 inch semi-tablet. Yet, the waiting is finally over. The phone will be available through StarHub as exclusive dealer, starting on December 11. Ian Chapman-Banks, GM of Dell Asia Pacific confirmed it as reported by ZDNet Asia. This gadget will be sold as standalone product (without contract) at S$398 (or US$711.75). For the record, Dell Streak is initially offered at IDR 5.999.000 (US$666) in Indonesia.

The Dell Streak in Singapore will be bundled with the latest installment of Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) and built on top of Dell's own UI, known as Stage, which has high praise from several reviews. This should be an answer of recent move by StarHub's direct competitor, SingTel which built exclusive deal to sell Samsung Galaxy Tab. Once again, after smartphone, the war has shifted into Tablet area.

No comment from both party, Dell and StarHub, about when the exclusive partnership will last.

Air_20080225162906

So after Adobe announced its first beta back in July, AIR is officially makes it debut in Android Market. Even though the app can be downloaded via Android Market, sadly it will only available for device with Android 2.2 (Froyo.) Also, what you need to keep it in mind, that this is not an AIR app, its just a runtime app to.. well, run AIR application.

I don't know if you can install the desktop AIR application, but currently you can download a couple of AIR apps from Android Market such as, Qrossfire, Jacks or Meteor Storm. In the future, we can expect a lot more of Android Applications (especially games) build with AIR. You could check more details about this from Adobe Labs.

Android 2.2 is coming to Samsung Galaxy S in September

Samsung-twit-20100730-468

According to Samsung UK Mobile twitter account, they tweeted that the international version of Galaxy S will receive the Android 2.2 update in September. About three days ago, the Galaxy S owners could update their device using the leaked update for Android 2.2. But there are reports saying that the update is still very buggy and unstable. Considering all of those stuffs, I think it is safer to wait for the official release on September.

Hopefully, after the update, Samsung also will fix the occasional lag that I had experienced when I'm playing with the Galaxy S at the ICS a couple of weeks ago. We'll keep you posted about it!

Rumored: Samsung Galaxy Q, packs with Froyo and QWERTY keyboard

Samsung_q

Samsung seems preparing the next Android phones, after introducing Samsung Epic 4G / Galaxy S Pro (another Galaxy S with slider QWERTY keyboard) and now Galaxy Q.

According to Samsung's specs leak, Galaxy Q will sports with 3 inch Super AMOLED display (720 x 480 pixel). This screen is smaller than Samsung Galaxy S I think, 8 megapixel camera + LED flash and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. This phone will run Android 2.2 Froyo powered by 1Ghz Hummingbird processor.

Judging by the dimensions 120 mm x 68 mm x 9,25 mm, Galaxy Q seems to be a cell phone with the candy bar form factor and a QWERTY keyboard below. Some people on the AndroidForums says this phones will become a BlackBerry rival. Unfortunately until now there is no image yet for the Galaxy Q device.
