Key design principles are at the heart of the mobile browsing experience including minimal typing, seamless synchronization with desktop Firefox and the ability to take your Firefox with you, to name a few.

Version 1.0 is available for download right now, and it come with a couple of features that has been available since the RC1 release, such as:
  • Awesome Bar - Go to your favorite sites in just a couple of keystroke
  • Weave Sync - its like the Google Chorme Bookmark Sync, but far more powerful as it sync not just your bookmark, but also your Firefox tabs, history and passwords between your desktop and mobile device
  • Add-ons - You can customize Firefox on your mobile device just like you customize Firefox on your PC, for instance, install YouTube Enabler on Firefox Mobile then you're all set to watch YouTube videos straight from your phone.
  • Tabbed browsing and more
You can download and learn more by visiting Firefox.com/mobile straight from your Nokia's N900 browser. Mozilla's wiki site also said that, while the Firefox for Mobile device is currently only available for the Maemo 5 platform, other platform such as WinMo, Android, Blackberry and iPhone will also have the app in the coming months.

Firefox coming to Android this February? Not really

News spreading all over the community about the possibility of mobile version of Firefox (usually known as Fennec) to come to Android platform. AndroidSpin initially raised this discussion claiming that it will be here on February based on discussion (on German) at Camp Firefox.de

Apparently the translation has misled to state such false information. AndroidandMe tries to fix this by quoting a better version of German translation:

Sorry for responding in English, I’ll include a Google translation below. I am one of the engineers at Mozilla working on the Android port, and we are many months away from having an alpha version of Firefox for Android. We’re still working on low-level software porting like getting the Netscape Portable Runtime (NSPR) layer working correctly on the platform, and there are many issues to be solved. We don’t yet have a feeling for when the work will be done, but if you want to follow our progress, you can look on our Mozilla wiki at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Android

So that's it. Firefox mobile for Android won't come on February or any sooner, but we could expect it comes in beta version in second half of the year.
