Lenovo focusing on "four screen strategy"

Lenovo, the Chinese laptop, PC and tablet maker plans to make the cloud integral to what it calls its "four screen strategy". The Company's direction is evident in a variety of new products, including the IdeaTab S2, Smartphone S2 and K91 smart TV.

The "four screens" are the PC or laptop, tablet, smartphone and smart TV, and Lenovo aims to make it simple not only to share content between them, but also to use different devices to control each other. For example, you could play content on a smart TV from a laptop while controlling playback with a smartphone or tablet.

Huawei Vision, Android phones with 3D UI and unibody design

Chinese handset manufacturer, Huawei has announced the existence of Huawei Vision, this phone uses Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system which powered by 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and has unibody design.

Just like other Android phones, this phone is also loaded with several features like WiFi, A-GPS, an FM Radio tuner, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash with ability to record 720p HD video, Bluetooth 2.1, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of ROM, a microSD slot capable of holding 32GB, and a micro-USB 2.0 socket to boot. What is interesting is that this phone has a unique interface carousel model displayed on the touch screen 3.7 inches display. Ah, so it turns out that the "3D interface" is nothing more than just a slightly tweaked version of SPB's Shell 3D launcher.

This phone will be packed with pre-installed four games like Angry Birds, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, Bob Guirella HD and Order & Chaos Online. Unfortunately, there is no pricing information and exact launch date, but this phone will be available on September with selected market.

Nokia to join forces with SINA and Tencent, offers on location based services through Ovi Maps

Nokia announced today that it has signed agreements with China's two leading Internet service providers, SINA and Tencent. Both SINA and Tencent services will be seamlessly integrated with Nokia's Ovi Maps in China, inviting millions of people to share their location with friends and communities through Ovi Maps on their favorite social network.

iPhone 4 CDMA seem to be coming in Asian region

Yes, we all know about iPhone 4 CDMA version has been released by Verizon Wireless for United States region, but these iPhone 4 CDMA also seems to be coming soon in Asia.

Some of the Asian region are  Japan, South Korea and China, as we all know that these areas is  laden with manufacturers of telecommunications technology. According to the Digitimes website, Apple plans to sell as many as 7 million units of iPhone 4 CDMA in this region during the first quarter of 2011.

What is Geinimi and how to avoid them?

Geinimi is an Android Trojan that was recently identified in China. Geinimi is similar with botnet wich can be controlled remotely Android device so that the attacker can 'control' your Android phone. Geinimi also be able to steal some information to be sent to a remote server.

How this Trojan spread?. The Geinimi maker 'package' repeated a number of legal Android applications (mostly games) with Geinimi Trojan. Packaging Android Applications that was infected by Geinimi then distributed through third-party Android application store in China.

FYI: the application that was infected by Geinimi trojan package are Monkey Jump 2, Sex Positions, President VS Aliens, City Defense and Baseball Superstars 2010. 

Now when the application is executed by the Android user, Geinimi will run in stealth mode to then gather some important information from the device.

Geinimi then tries to connect to a remote server like www.widifu.com, www.udaore.com, www.frijd.com, www.islpast.com and www.piajesj.com.

If the connection is successfully done, Geinimi then sends user information to a remote server. Here are some activities to be undertaken by Geinimi when successfully infect your Android phone:
  • Submitting your Android device location coordinates
  • Sending device identity (IMEI) and the identity of the SIM card (IMSI)
  • Downloading and then ask users to install an application
  • Ask users to remove a number of applications
  • Register and send the details of installed applications to a remote server
And here's how to avoid the spread of Geinimi Trojan on your Android phone:
  • Download applications from a trusted application store. Earlier check the name of the application developers, reviews and ratings.
  • Check the access rights requested by an application. Make sure the requested access rights in accordance with the features provided.
  • Note the 'behavior' your Android phone. The phone is infected with malicious programs usually will act funny like calling or send SMS automatically to recipients who are not known and there are mysterious application which is installed without your knowledge.
  • If your phone is found to behave strangely, it is recommended you install security applications to check your Android phone.

Samsung W899, dual screen Android phone for Chinese market

Samsung is now back producing clamshell phones equipped with two Super AMOLED screen, the Samsung W899, running Android 2.2 and powered by a 1GHz processor.

For now, the phone is intended for the Chinese market, the Samsung W899 uses CDMA / EVDO and GSM / UMTS network, WiFi and mobile hotspot capability, but the interesting feature that is owned by this phone is the dual touch screen measuring 3.3-inches on the outside and the main screen in the inside.

Unmei Q5 a fake Sony Ericsson PSP phones from China

We have a rumor about Sony Ericsson that will create a game phone, but these phones not available until now. And now we have Unmei Q5 phone frome Unmei Technology which has a similar shape with a Sony Play Station Portable (PSP) but pack with a phone feature.

This device has a nice body with a white glossy color, while the sliding botton hidden under the 3,5 inch touchscreen display. We have to sliding the cover in order to open the keyboard, the main highlight of the game features support for both sides are therefore in the standard PSP game button.

This phone sports with 3,5 inch screen with touchscreen capabilities, Dual camera, mini USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, dual sim card support and NES emulator for playing lots of games through this device.

The user interface look like Android OS, but this device using unknown propietary OS. Unmei Q5 is availabel in Chinesse market with arround US$55 price tag.

One Million mobile phone in China infected by Zombie Virus

We got a news recently that 1 million mobile phones in China infected by a virus called Zombie Virus.  According to Shanghai Daily, the virus is disguised as anti-virus apps had infection up to one million mobile devices in China, which cause the phones are vulnerable to attack by the creator of the virus.

ZTE N600 and ZTE R750 are ZTE Android phone that displays in the event EXPO COMM China 2010. ZTE N600 has a lower price while ZTE R750 is a  Dual GSM-CDMA Android phone.

ZTE N600 has been available in China through China Telecom for US$ 130. Although ZTE N600 is a cheaper one but those specs are not too bad.
