Telkomsel provide BlackBerry free data roaming in SoftBank network at Japan

Telkomsel also concerned with the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. As a biggest celular provider in Indonesia, Telkomsel offers Free Blackberry Data Roaming for kartuHALO subscriber without registration, this program is valid until March 31, 2011.

Rumor: RIM BIS 3.0 Upgrade next week?

We got a rumor that BIS 3.0 will be released next week, maybe this is the right time selected by RIM in conjunction with the release of BES Express service which will be released in March.

Although we have not got the right date information, but confirmed that this information is correct considering this rumor has circulated since the last few weeks.

Here are feature offered by the BIS 3.0:

  • 2-way synchronization with Gmail
  • The ability to create a Gmail Label with Gmail Advanced Plugin
  • Supports Windows Media Audio files
  • Support for OpenOffice files
  • Carrier specific error messages with relevant contact information.

Although we are not so sure, how many users who want the features of GMail, WMA and  OpenOffice files support.

Indosat launched CDMA BlackBerry services and Photoshare services in Indonesia

Indosat as the first BlackBerry service provider in Indonesia yesterday has launched CDMA-based BlackBerry service with the named BlackBerry StarOne. With BlackBerry StarOne service, Indosat customers can select the BlackBerry service based on GSM or CDMA. Customers who are very concerned about the budget and with limited mobility in one city is suitable to activate this service.

The main advantage of the BlackBerry StarOne, not only on the BlackBerry service, but also on tariffs for voice and sms is very cheap especially for calling/sms to another StarOne number.

In addition to offering BlackBerry CDMA package also offers Photoshare service. This service allows for users to send photos to various online media such as Facebook, Twitter, email and other websites at the same time and in a way that is easy, customers just click the image and click photoshare menu and choose which media who would be sent image.

This service can be activateded by sending an sms, type: REGPS and send to 766 or call *123*3*6*6# or user can be accessed through the i-go menu, and find the "gaul" menu. With tariff Rp. 1500 for weekly subscription and Rp. 5000 for monthly subscription (excluding GPRS).

Rumors: BIS 3.0 features revealed, launch on March 2010

We've just heard the information about BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) 3.0 will soon be launching in March 2010. According to rumors, BIS 3.0 will have the following features:

  • Support for OpenOffice files: presentations, text documents and spreadsheets
  • Support for WMA (Windows Media Audio)

Earlier, rumors about the existence of BIS 3.0 and BIS 3.4 was revealed in November 2009, which when it is mentioned that the new version will fully support of GMail, Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail features.
