Leaked Samsung Bada roadmap, sliding phone and cheaper price available

Bada-roadmap

This leaked information is obtained during Bada Developer Day in Russia. According to this roadmap, there will be several phones that are powered by Bada, including with sliding keyboard version. The price itself will range from US$340 to US$685.

Unfortunately, I am unable to figure out what's the vertical axis (with 20,000p and 10,000p as metrics) is all about. Yet, Samsung has to prove first that this OS is as good as other competitor in market.

MWC 2010 is definitely a big event for Samsung as they finally made their first Bada handset official. Samsung Wave is finally announced, and the phone itself has pretty much the same feature and specs that we've already covered yesterday. The Wave (S8500) will be the first handset to use the Super AMOLED display with the 800x480 resolution, the other specs are the 1GHz processor, a 5MP camera (seems become more common isn't it?), aGPS, accelerometer, 2GB or 8GB of internal storage, a microSD slot and of course the Bada OS. The Wave is also going to be the first handset to ship with Bluetooth 3.0.
No words on the pricing, but it will be available worldwide starting in April.

Samsungmobile_newsletter_img03

Captured from Samsung's newsletter, it's informed that the Korea company is about to launch a new smartphone at Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona on Feb 14. Samsung claims the new smartphone as brighter, faster, and more fun than ever. The launching is for invited guests only as stated in Samsung Unpacked site.

Can it be the first new Bada-powered smartphone? At least the ocean theme is supporting this argument. We'll update you for more information.

Samsung to unveil a phone with Super AMOLED at MWC

20090601135719_3entg

What's a Super AMOLED? Super AMOLED is basically the same display that has an integrated touch sensor. The display panel it self is said to be five times "clearer" and offer around 20% better sunlight legibility than the regular AMOLED display. There isn't much info about the screen size or which Samsung's phone that will use this display, but there has been a rumor, that the screen size will probably around 3.3" with WVGA (800x480) resolution, and of course we could also expect this new display to be equipped on Samsung's first BADA phone.
