Check out this Sony Ericsson Anzu detailed specs

Sonyericsson-x12

Sony Ericsson Anzu or probably gonna be called Xperia X12 once its official, is the new Android based phone from Sony Ericsson. The leaked specs is pretty good. The device is going to sports a 4.3-inch display with 854x480 resolution, a 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7230 (same with the one in Desire Z,) a 12 mega pixel camera and also capable to record a 720p video.

While the specs are pretty good, I still don't understands why SE decided to use an 800MHz processor while others are opted to use the 1.2GHz processor. To add more disappointment, reports said that Anzu's going to use Android 2.1 instead of the upcoming Android 2.3 (boo!)

The device isn't even out yet, but let's just hope that once its official, it'll use the latest OS version. But, If this Anzu phone isn't gonna get you excited, then how about the Playstation Phone?

2011 will be very exciting!

Sharp's ISO3 is an Android phone with 9.6MP Shooter

(download)

So today, Sharp has decided to join the Android army by bringing in a new smartphone called the ISO3. The ISO3 maybe Sharp's first Android phone, but the technical specs shows that its ready to compete with the big boys like Nexus One, Droid X, Droid 2 & Samsung Galaxy S.

The ISO3 technical specs includes a 3.5" capacitive touch screen with 960x640 resolution, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and also equipped with a 9.6 MP camera with CCD sensor and auto focus. The ISO3 also came with a couple of special features that may only work in Japan such as, an e-wallet function, a digital TV tuner, decoration mail function and KDDI mobile access.

The downside of this device is probably the fact that it'll ran on Android 2.1 (supposedly upgradeable to Android 2.2) & will only available for CDMA network.

Sony: Android 2.1 is coming to Xperia X10 by the end of September

Se-android-21-tweet-rm-eng

So according to Sony Ericsson's UK Twitter account, the Xperia X10 phones, including the X10 Mini & X10 Mini Pro, will be getting an upgrade to Android 2.1 by the end of September. As we already know, despite being the hottest phone in Sony Ericsson's line up this year, the X10 is a bit 'late' when it comes to its Android version. While most of the newer Android's phones (eg. Samsung Galaxy S) are already running Android 2.1 and above, the X10 is still running Android 1.6.
If this is true, then this is a great news to all X10 owners out there, finally their phone are getting an update. Sure it's not Android 2.2 aka Froyo, but hey, 2.1 is still a lot better than 1.6. I'm just curious if Sony Ericsson's are going to make some changes or even add some new features on its already awesome custom UI.

More photos of Samsung Galaxy S

Here's a few more photos of the Galaxy S from last week's ICS. I mentioned that I couldn't find the Samsung booth but I did spot the Galaxy S at the show. This is a different unit from the one Bayu was looking at as you can see from the baseband and kernel versions as well as the lack of connectivity widgets across the status bar. I didn't get to play with this phone much which is why Bayu's the one with the more complete first look.

While the camera and the screen look pretty impressive, the overall build quality of this phone feels rather cheap and plasticky (perhaps the fact that it's fully clad in plastic actually legitimizes this) but it's seriously light. For a phone that costs over $700 outright (Telkomsel is selling it for Rp 6,499,000, no subsidies), you'd expect it to feel sturdy and tough, but it doesn't feel that way.

Being used to the iPhone with 3.5 inch screen though, holding the 4-inch Galaxy S almost feels like holding a tablet. It's pretty damn big.

When he mentioned that the app drawer resembles the iOS, he wasn't kidding, check it out below.

First Impression: Samsung Galaxy S at ICS

2010-07-17_11
So last week I was at ICS and after a couple of weeks ago I got disappointed by the cancellation of the launched by Telkomsel, I finally got my chance to check out the newest device by Samsung, the Galaxy S.

A brief specification of this device, it sports a 4" Super AMOLED display, 5 MP autofocus camera and the ability to record a 720p video at 30 frame per sec, FM Radio, Android 2.1 + TouchWiz 3.0 UI and of course the 1GHz Hummingbird processor.

Samsung Galaxy Beam launched in Singapore

Sgb_starhub

Another Android based smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Beam went on sale this weekend in Singapore via Starhub. The Galaxy Beam is the world's first smartphone with a built-in pico projector. The Galaxy Beam sports a 3.7" Super AMOLED display, Bluetooth 3.0, Allshare (DLNA), a front facing VGA camera in addition to 8 Megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash in the back. Like the Galaxy S, the Galaxy Beam will runs Android 2.1 combined with the TouchWiz UI 3.0.

Thanks to Samsung Singapore's website, we were able to see that the Galaxy Beam will be equipped with a 720 MHz TI OMAP3440. This is a bit surprising since, the ARM Cortex-A8-based OMAP3440's stock clock is actually 800MHz. Samsung probably decided to underclocked the device to provide a better battery life.

With a little bit of hack, the Nexus One is capable to shoots a 720p video

Man! The guys from the XDA-Developers forum never sleeps aren't they? This time the community presents a hack, which allows you to record a 720p video from your Nexus One. The video is a bit choppy at times and the sound quality is awful, but this is a work in progress so expect a better release in the future.

To apply the hack, you must have a rooted Nexus One and also running CyanogenMod CM 5.0.8test3 along with the Froyo's radio update. If you want to know more about the hack, go here to check it out.

Okay gotta admit, the hack is pretty darn scary.. so if you're not sure what you're about to do, then move along.
