NITDroid project: Android ported to Nokia N900

The people behind the NITDroid project has been trying to get the Android OS to be fully ported to the Nokia N900 device for a while now, and it seems they are close to completion on it.

As we saw, one of the few things less on porting Android to N900 is the ability to make calls. A crucial feature for those users who really want to use the N900 device to make phone calls.

Here is a new video that shows both incoming and outgoing calls on the Nokia N900, along with cellular data:

Nokia N9 technical specs leaked

About 3 days ago, we've seen the leaked photos of Nokia N9 and somewhat the physical form factor reminds me of a Macbook Pro.. in a smaller size of course. Well today, IntoMobile have some details about the technical specs of this device. The Nokia N9 is expected to have a 4" OLED display with resolution of 800x480 pixels. It will also boast a 1 GHz Snapdragon QSD8250 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 1GB of system storage, 64GB internal memory, also capable to record an HD 720p video.

With MeeGo as its operating system, I think the Nokia N9 are set to compete with other devices in smartphone market. I just hope it isn't too late for Nokia to enter the market, as it already filled with big boys from Apple with the iPhone 4, Blackberry with Blackberry Torch and also a very long lists of Android-based phones.
